From Japan straight out to the world: the web site for news and information

It has been nearly 11 years since the Great East Japan Earthquake and the TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident. The 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic games were held last year, one year late, but Fukushima’s recovery is still a work in progress. Last year, 10 years after the disaster, Fukushima Governor Masao Uchibori declared reconstruction efforts would shift from “’starting’ to ‘making it a reality,’” and announced a new slogan “Making it a reality, one at a time. Fukushima,” calling strongly for concrete results.

The FPCJ invited Governor Uchibori to discuss achieving true reconstruction in Fukushima, 11 years after the nuclear accident, including discussing concrete measures and problems.

The briefing had a total of 36 participants including journalists from Belgium, Brazil, China, Germany, Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan and the US.
