Applications are Now Open to Eligible Foreign Businesses for the “Green Finance Subsidy Program for Tokyo Market Entry”

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) has been working to implement a “Sustainable Recovery” that contributes to the world’s efforts against climate change and to achieving an economic and social revival from the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the ways we are aiming to achieve this goal is by expanding the green finance market further.

From this fiscal year, TMG is implementing the "Green Finance Subsidy Program for Tokyo Market Entry” to support the expenses required for foreign companies working in green finance to start new operations in Tokyo.

Therefore, we are pleased to announce that applications are being accepted from today for eligible businesses.

The Green Finance Subsidy Program for Tokyo Market Entry

[Eligibility]
This project is open to foreign asset management and fintech companies working in the field of green finance who will start new businesses in Tokyo by the end of March, 2022.

[Application period]
From Friday, October 15, 2021 to Friday, November 19, 2021, 11:59 pm Japan Standard Time

[How to Apply] 
Please apply through the following website

2 Schedule (Planned)
[November 19] Applications period ends

[Late November] First screening begins. Applications will be narrowed down to about 10 candidates

[Early to mid-December]
Final Screening will be held. Each candidate will present their business plans and they will be examined by external experts. Companies eligible for support will be decided (maximum of 5 companies)

[Late December to March 2022]
Support programs provided to the 5 selected companies, have them expand into Tokyo by the end of March, 2022 and apply for subsidies
