The 2021 Hiroshima Business Forum for Global Peace Tokyo Session (Hub: Tokyo, Representative: SASAKI Kyoji) will be held on October 8, 2021 (Fri.). This forum aims to realize collective peacebuilding through business.

The Hiroshima Business Forum for Global Peace was held on September 8-9, 2021 organized by Hiroshima Organization for Global Peace (HOPe) for the purpose of discussing the relationship between business and peacebuilding from multiple perspectives. Its main theme was "How we can revitalize the world and rebuild an even better global community in 2021 – Conquering the pandemic and overcoming discrimination and disparities and national favoritism."

The Tokyo Session will be a side event held in Tokyo by volunteer members, in order to maximize the momentum from the Hiroshima Business Forum for Global Peace, which was started in 2019 in cooperation with Hiroshima Prefecture. As a bridge between Tokyo, an international economic city where leaders gather, and Hiroshima, a symbolic site of peace, we will launch the Tokyo Community to achieve collective peacebuilding through business, with those who share the same ideal.

The main theme of the Tokyo Session 2021 is "Action to Heal and Overcome Separation: Changing the Economy, Society, and the World by Achieving Peace through Dialogue, Empathy, and Soft Power." More than 35 speakers will gather from varying industries such as international cooperation, government, finance, media, think tanks, academia and more. We will discuss peacebuilding through business regarding eight themes including diversity & inclusion, environmental issues, well-being, and economic security.
