The Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) announced the winners for the 5th Asia Cosmopolitan Awards. The Nara Forum 2023 Asia Cosmopolitan Awards will be held to celebrate the prize winners on Thursday, January 19th, 2023 at the Nara Prefectural Convention Center by Nara Prefecture and ERIA.

The Asia Cosmopolitan Awards will be awarded to individuals or organizations who have made substantial and significant contributions to the development and enrichment of the East Asian community in the fields of cultural and economic integration, narrowing developmental gaps, and establishing sustainable social growth in the region.


These international awards are presented by the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA).
The awards ceremony was traditionally held on a biennial basis but was postponed for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It will finally be held again after a four years hiatus.


During the forum on the 19th, the Award Commemorative Lectures will be given by the winners (including the Grand Prize winner, Mr. Angel Gurría) and the Keynote Speech will be given by Ms. Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana who is the Executive Secretary, United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP).

Moreover, on the 20th, Mr. Angel Gurría will give a Special Lecture for university students as the Educational Program at Nara Prefectural University.

There will be a commemorative photo session and joint press conference on the 19th during the Forum. The press is also welcome to attend the Educational Program on the 20th. We look forward to your attendance at the event.
