Nov. 17 Hybrid Symposium: Innovations to Enhance the Resilience of Tropical Forests and Sustainability of the Forest Industry
The Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences (JIRCAS) will hold the JIRCAS International Symposium 2023 entitled "Innovations to enhance the resilience of tropical forests and sustainability of the forest industry" on Friday, November 17, 2023, both on-site (United Nations Univ.) and online webinar.
In recent years, there has been a growing international debate on the need for resource management to enhance the climate and environmental regulating functions of tropical forests. In addition, there is a growing recognition of the need to implement regulations to curb deforestation as an essential measure in the fight against climate change and the conservation of biodiversity.
The main objective is to propose innovations from Asia that can harmoniously balance the resilience of tropical forests and the sustainability of industry. This symposium will promote common understanding among speakers and symposium participants, and provide an opportunity to exchange views on how to achieve environmental conservation and sustainable industries.
* Registration is now open. Free registration.
