Only one month remains until the 76th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki. The Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons came into force in January of this year, and the day after the closing ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics, a festival of peace, the Nagasaki Peace Ceremony will be held.

The FPCJ invited Nagasaki Mayor Tomihisa Taue to hold an online briefing on the topic "Nagasaki at a New Start Line Towards the 100th Anniversary of the Atomic Bombing—Passing on the Realities of the Atomic Bombing and Hopes for Peace."

The briefing had a total of 16 participants including journalists from Bangladesh, Canada, Germany, Indonesia, Russia, and USA.
