Video report: ADB President Asakawa on the Asian Economic Forecast and the Response to the Covid Crisis

post date : 2021.09.28

Led by China and India, Asia has been called the world’s economic growth center, but with the continued spread of COVID-19, the appearance of variant strains, and inequal distribution of vaccines, how the recovery from the pandemic will play out remains unclear.

The Asian Development Bank has predicted that the economies of developing countries in Asia will grow by 7.2% this year, but how will the recovery proceed for the Asian economy overall, which has a major impact on the global economy? What key points will be most important to this recovery?

The FPCJ invited Mr. Masatsugu Asakawa, President of the Asian Development Bank, to discuss the Bank’s response to the pandemic and the future of the Asian economy.

The briefing had a total of 35 participants including journalists from Cambodia, China, Germany, Russia, and the US.

*The briefing starts at 28 seconds of this video.
