Video report: Post-COVID-19 Geopolitics—The Future of US-China Tension and Japan’s Role (Dr. Akihiko Tanaka, President of the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies)

post date : 2020.07.16

Within Japan, efforts have begun to firmly establish the new post-COVID-19 lifestyle as part of society. However, looking overseas, the power struggle on the international stage between the US and China is being called a new cold war, and there has been concern among the international community over this conflict intensifying and continuing in the long term. How will this US-China tension develop in the future, and what role should Japan play, as an allied nation of the US also seeking to improve relations with China?

The FPCJ invited Dr. Akihiko Tanaka, president of the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies, to discuss this topic in an online briefing.

The briefing had a total of 35 participants including journalists from China, France, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and USA.
