Video report【Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries】: Towards One Trillion Yen in Agricultural Exports

post date : 2018.03.20

Reforming the agriculture, forestry, and fishery industries is a key priority for Japan as its population declines. Thanks to reforms aiming to increase the profitability of agriculture, Japan's exports of agricultural, forestry and fishery products reached a record high of 807.3 billion yen in 2017, and every year are growing closer to the government’s target of one trillion yen in 2019.

How will agricultural reforms to bring about a new era in the agricultural, forestry, and fishery industries be implemented? The FPCJ invited Mr. Ken Saito, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, to speak at a press briefing.  (provisional translation by FPCJ)

The briefing had a total of 55 participants, including 11 journalists from Bangladesh, China, France, Germany, Indonesia, R.O.K., Singapore, Taiwan, and U.S.A.
