Video Report: Latest Statistical Look at the Elderly in Japan 2017 (Mr. Shuji Saeki, Director-General of the Statistical Survey Dept., Statistics Bureau, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications)

Every year, to coincide with Respect for the Aged Day (the third Monday in September), the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications’ Statistics Bureau releases a report titled Statistical Look at the Elderly in Japan using the latest statistical data, which includes the size of the elderly population in Japan, employment statistics, and household expenditure.

 

The FPCJ invited Mr. Shuji Saeki, Director-General of the Statistical Survey Department of the Statistics Bureau at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, to speak about this year’s Statistical Look at the Elderly in Japan.

 

The briefing had a total of 27 participants, including 14 journalists from France, Germany, Korea, Singapore, Switzerland, Vietnam and U.S.A..
