During the annual meeting of the Scientific Committee of the International Whaling Commission (IWC) held in San Diego, the USA, from May 22 to June 3, 2015, the new proposal by the Japanese government for the scientific whale research program in the Antarctic Ocean was discussed. The Scientific Committee released a report on Friday, June 19. On the occasion, the FPCJ organized a press briefing, inviting Mr. Joji Morishita, Japan’s Commissioner to the IWC.
The briefing had a total of 21 participants, including ten journalists from China, France, the US, and Kazakhstan, and ten embassy representatives.
