Tokyo Financial Award 2020: The Winning Businesses Have Been Chosen!

As one of the projects in the “Global Financial City: Tokyo” Vision, launched in 2017, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) is hosting the “Tokyo Financial Award.”

We are pleased to inform you that the award-winning businesses have been chosen.

The Tokyo Financial Award has two components: the “financial innovation category” and the “ESG investment category.”

In the “financial innovation category” this fiscal year, there are 25 themes for B to C services and 5 themes for B to B services, all based on the needs and issues regarding financial services brought forth by Tokyo residents and Tokyo-based businesses.

Candidate businesses were asked to participate starting from July 7, 2020 to September 11, during which 90 business from 20 countries and regions including Japan applied to showcase their solutions.

The “ESG investment category” this fiscal year has been divided into two sub-categories: “ESG investments” and “SDGs.”

The ESG investments category includes 8 themes while there are 17 themes in the SDGs category, corresponding to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Candidate businesses that practice activities to promote ESG investment and businesses that engage in plans for SDG-based management were asked to participate starting from August 3, 2020 to October 16.

In addition, the “Tokyo Financial 2020 Award Ceremony” will be held online at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 8, 2021. If you wish to watch the award ceremony, please register with the necessary information at the following site:
