Due to certain circumstances, July 8th press briefing on “Strategy and Joint Operations in the Reiwa Era” (General YOSHIDA Yoshihide, Chief of Staff, Joint Staff) is canceled.


July 1 this year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Japan Self-Defense Forces.


The FPCJ has invited General YOSHIDA Yoshihide, the Chief of Staff of the Joint Staff, to discuss his perspective on the strategic environment and defense strategy.


FPCJ supporting members and embassy representatives may also participate in the briefing as observers (admission free).


■Please note that you cannot physically attend this briefing, as it will be a Zoom webinar.

■Theme: Strategy and Joint Operations in the Reiwa Era

■Briefer: General YOSHIDA Yoshihide, Chief of Staff, Joint Staff

■Language: Japanese, with consecutive English interpretation

*Be aware that it is possible the briefing may be cancelled or ended prematurely due to unforeseen circumstances

 on the day of the briefing.

*The title of the briefing is subject to change.


As in our standard press briefings, there will be a Q&A session at the end.
*In principle, questions will only be accepted from members of the foreign press.

■Members of the Foreign Press:
Please send any questions for the briefer or topics you are interested in to by noon on Monday, July 1.
As there will only be a limited amount of time to ask questions during the briefing, we will collect questions and provide them to the briefer in advance.

Embassy representatives and FPCJ supporting members may also watch the briefing as observers (admission free).
