Notice (Press Briefing): Rebuilding of the European and US Economy and Japan (January 19, 2012)

post date : 2013.08.19

Press Briefing
Rebuilding of the European and US Economy and Japan
Mr. Richard Koo
Chief Economist, Nomura Research Institute, Ltd.

The Japanese economy is rapidly recovering from the steep downturn after the Great East Japan Earthquake, and the reconstruction demand is expected to shore up the domestic economy in 2012. The outlook of the world economy, however, is increasingly uncertain because of debt concerns in Europe and the US, casting a shadow on the full-scale revival of the Japanese economy.

At the start of 2012, FPCJ will invite Mr. Richard Koo, Chief Economist of the Nomura Research Institute and a leading economist covering Japan, to talk about the prospects for the revival of the European and US economy and impacts on the Japanese economy.

Time & Date: 15:00-16:30, Thursday, January 19, 2012

Place: Foreign Press Center/Japan (6th floor, Nippon Press Center Bldg.)

Language: English (Interpretation into Japanese NOT provided)

Embassy representatives and FPCJ supporting members may also attend the briefing as observers (admission free).
