Video report: “Challenge Zero”- New action by Japanese companies in the field of climate change

Keidanren (the Japan Business Federation), in cooperation with the government of Japan, is working towards the realization of a “decarbonized society” that the Paris Framework, an international framework for combating climate change, sets as a long-term goal. Keidanren has launched a new initiative “Challenge Zero” (Challenge Net Zero Carbon Innovation), which strongly encourages the action of innovation to be challenged in Japan and overseas. Under this initiative, 137 companies and organizations have announced 305 innovation challenges [concrete efforts] toward a decarbonized society.
The FPCJ invited Mr. Masami HASEGAWA and Mr. Kiyoshi TANIGAWA from Environment & Energy Policy Bureau of Keidanren to discuss the “Challenge Zero” initiative. Mr. Kaoru MAGOSAKI, Director of Climate Change Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was also at the briefing to discuss climate change policy of Japan.
The briefing had a total of 21 participants including journalists from Germany, Indonesia, and South Korea.
