Video Report: North Korean Developments and Relations with Japan (Prof. Shunji Hiraiwa, Kwansei Gakuin University)
post date : 2016.10.04
Since the UN strengthened sanctions against North Korea in March, the country has repeatedly launched ballistic missiles, including the August 24 launch of a submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) and the launch of three ballistic missiles on September 5, as well as carrying out their second nuclear test this year on September 9. As North Korean provocations continue, there is growing interest in their goals and the future of Japan-North Korea relations.
The FPCJ invited Dr. Shunji Hiraiwa, professor at the Kwansei Gakuin University School of International Studies, to speak about developments involving North Korea and Japan-North Korea relations.
The briefing had a total of 37 participants, including 14 journalists from USA, China, South Korea, France, and 20 embassy representatives.
