The murder of Japanese hostages by the extremist group “ISIS”/“ISIL” has caused heightened interest in Japan’s crisis management system. The FPCJ has invited Canon Institute of Global Studies (CIGS) Research Director and Foreign Policy Institute President Kuni Miyake to discuss the current state of and problems with Japan’s crisis management system, considering the growing destabilization of the international situation.
The briefing had a total of 30 participants, including 7 journalists from Colombia, Germany, France, the UK., and the US., and 19 embassy representatives.
