On November 5, the US presidential election was held, and Republican Party candidate former President Donald Trump emerged as the victor.
The FPCJ has invited Meikai University Professor Tetsuo Kotani, a senior fellow at The Japan Institute of International Affairs and an expert in international relations, particularly US and East Asian security policy, to discuss the future of Japan-US relations based on the results of the US presidential election, including how the new American administration will impact Japan-US relations and how that will affect what role Japan should play.
The briefing was attended by journalists from China, Germany, Korea, Russia and USA.
