What is the Earth Hall of Fame Kyoto?

The Earth Hall of Fame Kyoto is an award to honor the achievements of those who have contributed to the conservation of the global environment. The name of Kyoto is embodied in this award to honor this city, the birth place of Kyoto Protocol. This award was embarked in February 2010 by the Earth Hall of Fame Kyoto Management Council, which was set up by seven parties ― Kyoto City Government, Kyoto Prefectural Government, the Kyoto Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Environment Ministry, Research Institute for Humanity and Nature, and the Kyoto International Conference Center, International Institute for Advanced Studies.

Our aim is to unify the endeavors of all people, regions, and countries devoted to the noble cause of solving the environmental problems of our planet. We would like to convey this message from Kyoto to the world at this commendation ceremony, which is to be held at the Kyoto International Conference Center (KICC), the arena for the attestation of COP3.
