On April 10 (Sun) and 11 (Mon) in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture, the METI Agency for Natural Resources and Energy (ANRE) and the Nuclear Damage Compensation and Decommissioning Facilitation Corporation (NDF) will hold The 1st International Forum on the Decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi NPS. It will be the first international forum on the subject, attended by experts from Japan and around the world, and by local residents and students.

 

The FPCJ invited senior executives of ANRE and TEPCO to explain the forum, the current situation of Fukushima Daiichi NPS this year, which marks the fifth year since the Great East Japan Earthquake, and the progress of measures for decommissioning and contaminated water.

 

The briefing had a total of 33 participants, including 23 journalists from Australia, Germany, Indonesia, USA, etc., and 7 embassy representatives.
