The Tokyo festival Executive Committee is pleased to announce the full lineup of Performing Arts Festival: Autumn Meteorite 2025 Tokyo to be held from October 1st (Wed.) to November 3rd (Mon.), 2025 at the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre and other locations in Ikebukuro.
In addition, the official Autumn Meteorite 2025 Tokyo website has just launched, offering program updates, ticket information, and special content to help audiences enjoy this year’s festival. Tickets are on sale for most programs, with a few exceptions.

▼A Message for the 2025 Edition
For the first year under the artistic director Toshiki Okada, we will feature “Performance Program”, presenting 14 diverse performances from Japan and abroad, “Non-Performance Program”, offering lectures and workshops, and “Hello and Welcome (Attendee Support)” to support accessibility and inclusivity across all programs. 
In 2025, the festival will serve as a platform to discover new domestic talent, commission a new work, and promote international exchange among young professionals in the performing arts. We will invite presenters from overseas festivals, and through exchanges with them, build connections with various festivals, theatres, artists, and professionals around the world for future collaborations. 
Our various programs will allow audiences to understand and relate more directly with performing arts from Japan and around the world that are happening here and now. And it also creates opportunities to become aware of different realities and reconsider our world through fresh perspectives.
Under a new team, led by Okada, we aim to become a truly international performing arts festival that is inclusive and open to wider public.

• Opening Program "Another Shape of Reality/Shape of Another Reality" （Japan）

Opening “Autumn Meteorite,” this performance brings to life the distinct worlds of a novelist, a YouTuber, and a choreographer, colliding as reality in the plaza outside Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre in Ikebukuro.

• Toshiki Okada Dance Piece / Theater Piece "Dance Jurors' Dance"（Japan）
A dance-theater performance for all of us forced to dance to the logic of “property”—the latest work by Toshiki Okada, Director of Autumn Meteorite, created with dancers, actors, and a musician.

• TMT Autumn Selection Kuranosuke SASAKI solo performance "Jonah"（Romania, Japan）
International Co-production of Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre and Theatre National Radu Stanca Sibiu. Kuranosuke Sasaki's solo performance of a man breaking through lonely darkness and fighting for freedom.

• Shakespeare’s Wild Sisters Group × NIWA GEKIDAN PENINO "The Bathhouse of Honest Desires"（Taiwan, Japan）
Every night, fallen soldiers come to a public bathhouse to remember and play the women they left behind—a Japanese-Taiwanese collaboration between the masterminds of Kuro Tanino and Chia-Ming Wang.

• Faye Driscoll "Weathering"（USA）
A performance that grips the five senses: 70 tightly packed minutes capture a weathering world in flux.
*Admission for ages 15 years old and above.*Partial nudity.
*Minimal physical contact may occur with audience members near the stage.

• TMT Autumn Selection "Mary Said What She Said"（USA, France）
A solo performance by renowned French actor Isabelle Huppert, directed by pioneer of experimental theater Robert Wilson. This monologue brings to life Mary, Queen of Scots on the night before her execution.

• Handa Gote Research & Development "THE THIRD HAND"（Czech Republic）
A brilliant microcosm of puppet theater crafted from fragments of objects. This acclaimed work from the Czech alternative theater scene makes its long-awaited Japan debut!

• Forced Entertainment "Signal to Noise"（UK）
The performers frantically and passionately perform to AI voices—are they living, breathing deep fakes? A playful performance challenges the idea of what’s real.

• YOU BALANCE（Japan）
Sound performances by a sound engineer and artists of all genres erupt simultaneously. Spend two days finding a balance within the shifting layers of the venue.

• Utau-Hahagokoro "The Theater☆Sing! Dance! Grow! A garden of Hahagokoro ~Children's Clothing is Reincarnation~"（Japan）
Utau-Hahagokoro’s actress-mothers turn daily life into theater, singing of the sorrow and reality of being both mothers and performers. Through children’s hand-me-downs, theater becomes something more shareable.

• Xavier Bobés  "Things easily forgotten"（Spain）
Small, subtle objects begin to tell grand stories of emotions, history, and time. A journey through memory intimately unfolds within the space.

• SEKITA IKUKO "under take"（Japan）
Autumn Meteorite has commissioned a new work by this up-and-coming 
“wide-angle lens theater” company. In this piece, the textures of our lives are projected onto a theatrical space that exposes its stage mechanisms.

• TMT Autumn Selection Damien Jalet × Kohei Nawa "Planet[wanderer]"（France, Japan）
A unique collaboration between the Kyoto sculptor Kohei Nawa and remarkable choreographer Damien Jalet

• Shin Hanagata "Ergonomic Embryo - Protocell"（Japan）
A body becomes, rather than uses, artificiality and technology, revealing the shifting boundaries between the two. A public experiment to renew our perception of the body in the theater space.
