“Cool Japan” is one part of the growth strategy pursued by the Abe administration. The Cool Japan Fund was established in November 2013 as a collaborative fund by the government and private enterprises, in order to commercialize “Cool Japan” and increase overseas demand by providing funding support, primarily through risk capital. Two years since the establishment of the Cool Japan Fund, the FPCJ has invited the fund’s CEO Nobuyuki Ota to speak on its successes and its future, including initiatives for worldwide promotion of outstanding products from regional areas of Japan.
