Press Briefing: Current State and Future of Renewable Energy Use in Japan
Briefer: Mr. Yasuyo Yamazaki, President and CEO, Kuni Umi Asset Management
President, Sun-Based Economy Association
President, Research Institute for Growth Strategy Inc.
At the end of April, a panel of experts with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry announced their proposal for the ideal energy mix for 2030. The proposal puts the ratio of nuclear power, which was 29% before the Great East Japan Earthquake, at 20 to 22%, and renewable energy more than doubled from 10% to 22 to 24%, with the rest consisting of power from fossil fuels. The government is expected to finalize their plan, based on this proposal, within May.
Amidst growing interest in the future possibilities of renewable energy, the FPCJ has invited Mr. Yasuyo Yamazaki, President and CEO of Kuni Umi Asset Management, a company specialized in investment in renewable energy projects throughout Japan, to discuss the current state and future of renewable energy use in Japan. Don’t miss this chance!
