New Chinese Administration and Japan-China Relations
Dr. Homare Endo, Director of the Center of International Relations, Tokyo University of Social Welfare
In November, the Chinese Communist Party approved a new leadership, appointing Mr. Xi Jinping as its new chief. In what direction will this new leadership take the country, and what will the future of the troubled Japan-China relations look like?
FPCJ has invited Dr. Homare Endo, Director, Center of International Relations, Tokyo University of Social Welfare, to share her views on these points. She is definitely the best person to talk about the Chinese new administration. She was born in China, and has served as a visiting professor at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, known as the think-tank of the Chinese government. This year she wrote a book entitled, “China Nine: Nine Men Running China,” based on her numerous connections with the inner circle of the government. As you know, the book became something for many to talk about.
Date & Time: December 7 (Fri), 14:00-15:30
Place: Foreign Press Center/Japan (6th floor, Nippon Press Center Bldg.)
Language: Japanese (with English interpretation)
Embassy representatives and FPCJ supporting members may also attend the briefing as observers (admission free).
