The Foreign Press Center/Japan arranged interviews with Kokonoe Stable and its master Chiyonofuji, a former sumo grand champion.
We also assisted with a photo opportunity for the May Ground Sumo tournament and dohyo ceremony, at the request of Mr. Manfred Sax from Terra Mater magazine.
Terra Mater magazine is published by RedBull Media house, a multi-platform media company of Red Bull, the world-famous energy drink manufacturer based in Austria. This magazine is focused on nature science, history, and traditional culture around the world, and most of its subscribers are in English and German speaking regions in Europe and America.
At the Kokonoe Stable, Mr. Sax observed the sumo wrestlers early-morning practice and their life style after the practice, including a mealtime and the scene of hairdressing. After that, he had an interview with Stablemaster Kokonoe about the course of his active career and his effort and passion for training his apprentices.
