Video Report: A Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Survivor’s Hopes for World Peace and the Abolition of Nuclear Weapons (Ms. Keiko Ogura)

post date : 2023.07.14

Soon, 78 years will have passed since the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. At the G7 Hiroshima Summit in May, worldwide interest in nuclear disarmament, non-proliferation, and the abolition of nuclear weapons was stronger than ever. Atomic bomb survivor Ms. Keiko Ogura described her experience in the bombing directly to the G7 leaders, communicating Hiroshima’s hopes for a world without nuclear weapons, and received attention from around the globe.

Ahead of the anniversary of the atomic bombing on August 6, the FPCJ has invited Ms. Keiko Ogura, who has spent many years actively communicating to the world the realities of the atomic bombing in an effort to bring about a world without nuclear weapons, to speak about her experience in the atomic bombing and her hopes for peace and the abolition of nuclear weapons.

The briefing was attended by journalists from China, Denmark, Germany, Spain and UK.
