【Media Invitation】Toyama City, Selected in The New York Times “52 Places to Go in 2025,” Hosts “TOYAMA NIGHT” in Tokyo

Toyama City, selected as one of The New York Times’“52 Places to Go in 2025,” has been attracting significant attention both in Japan and abroad.
It is highly recognized as a model Compact City where a rich natural environment coexists in harmony with advanced urban policies.

Surrounded by the magnificent Tateyama Mountain Range of the Northern Japan Alps and blessed by the abundant bounty of the Japan Sea and Toyama Bay, Toyama offers a rare balance of urban innovation, natural beauty, and cultural tradition.
The city is also home to the traditional performing art “Owara Kaze no Bon,” which boasts over 300 years of history, symbolizing the deep connection between tradition and community.

To share the essence of Toyama’s unique charm with the international media, Toyama City will host “TOYAMA NIGHT” at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Japan (FCCJ) in Tokyo.
The event will feature tourism and Toyama Glass exhibits, a presentation on Toyama’s Compact City approach, recognized by the national government as a leading example of sustainable urban planning, and a special live performance of the traditional Owara Kaze no Bon.

Guests will also enjoy Toyama’s culinary excellence, including winter yellowtail shabu-shabu (hot pot) and masu sushi (pressed trout sushi), prepared with locally sourced Toyama ingredients under the supervision of ANA’s Executive Chef, perfectly paired with premium Toyama sake. A raffle offering exclusive Toyama specialty gifts will also be held during the evening.

We warmly invite you to join us for this special occasion and experience the spirit, beauty, and flavor of Toyama.
