
Nakasone Peace Institute established the Award to honor the efforts of younger generations who have made internationally significant achievements in such fields as politics, economics, culture, and science and technology, and to encourage new and further achievements. This year again, we look forward to receiving many applications for this Award, which respects diversity and inclusion, from individuals engaged in various fields both in Japan and internationally.
Guidelines
1. Award Subject
Outstanding research or practical activities in the following fields:
1. Ensuring peace and security in the international community.
2. Promotion of development of the international economy and economic cooperation.
3. International cultural activities such as cultural and artistic exchange and collaboration.
4. International activities in science and technology, including international collaboration.
5. Initiatives addressing global issues such as the environment, energy, healthcare, and poverty.
2. Eligibility
Individuals generally around the age of 45 or younger who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in the fields listed above.
3. Award Recipients and Categories
One Award of Excellence and a small number of Incentive Awards will be presented. In principle, the Awards will be granted to individuals, but in some cases a group may be considered. The Award plaque and a supplementary award of 1,000,000 yen for the Award of Excellence recipient and 500,000 yen for the Incentive Award recipients will be granted.

1. Information about the applicant’s activities (format not specified; Japanese (maximum of 5,000 characters) or English (maximum of 2,500 words)).
2. Documents relevant to the selection process (copies of manuscripts, list of publications, etc.).
3. One letter of recommendation. Please note that the application documents will not be returned. If you encounter any difficulties filling out the form, please contact the NPI office by email.
