FPCJ selects the 50th Anniversary Logo Design

FPCJ selects the 50th Anniversary Logo Design

2026 will mark fifty years since the founding of Foreign Press Center Japan (FPCJ). An open call was made for anniversary logo designs to commemorate this occasion, and we received many entries. Thank you to everyone who participated.

After careful deliberation, the decision was made to use the design by Mr. Itaru Tsubota, a designer from Hyogo Prefecture.

The design juxtaposes the curve of the 5 with the Earth, which is also in the FPCJ's official logo, and the 0 is formed with the same concept. The world is represented by combining the 5 from 50 with the Earth, and Japan is represented with a red circle, with the two combined symbolizing the FPCJ’s efforts to connect Japan to the world and its 50th anniversary.

This logo will be used throughout the FPCJ’s 50th anniversary year, from the beginning of 2026 until March 2027, in a variety of places such as the FPCJ’s X (formerly Twitter) account, a special 50th anniversary website, and at various events.
