Announcing the Launch of the Host Town Website
We are pleased to announce the launch of Host Town Website with some of the latest information regarding the nation-wide movement of Host Town Initiative for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Information such as Host Town related events and training camps will be updated on this website along with various contents. Please visit the website and find out more about the Host Town Initiative.
1．Aim of the website
In our Host Town Initiative, the Japanese local towns warmly welcome and support athletes participating in the Tokyo 2020 Games, from countries/regions around the world. This is a first-ever attempt in the history of Olympic and Paralympic Games.
While the world is affected by the pandemic, we believe this website will cheer up the world by offering various contents featuring worldwide cultural exchanges and friendships.

Collaboration projects of nationwide Host Towns will be available, such as video messages among Host Towns and athletes/supporters.

Japanese Para athletes associated with Host Town sends messages to athletes of partner countries/regions to share about their efforts towards the Tokyo 2020 Games and how they are coping with the new environment affected by the virus. They have also commented on the purpose and meaning of Host Town Initiative from the athletes’ point of view.
