2017 White Paper on Small and Medium Enterprises in Japan (Ms. Tomoko INA, Director, Small and Medium Enterprise Agency Business Environment Dept. Research Office)

The 2017 White Paper on Small and Medium Enterprises in Japan, with the lifecycle of SMEs in Japan as its theme, is planned to be approved by the Cabinet in late April. The white paper analyzes difficulties in improving productivity, as well as structural issues such as the aging of business operators and the labor shortage. It will also explain the importance of innovation creation through starting new businesses, and of smoothly passing on business and management resources to the next generation.
The FPCJ has invited Ms. Tomoko INA, Director of Research Office, Business Environment Department, Small and Medium Enterprise Agency, who was in charge of compiling the report, to speak about the 2017 White Paper.
