Press Briefing “Outlook for Japan-China Relations”
Briefer: Prof. Yasuhiro Matsuda,
The University of Tokyo Interfaculty Initiative in Information
Institute for Advanced Studies on Asia, the University of Tokyo
Japan-China relations remain cool, due to the Senkaku Islands dispute and differing interpretations of history. However, at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Beijing this November, there is the possibility the current heads of state of both countries will hold a meeting for the first time during their administrations, and so there is increasing hope that relations may improve.
The FPCJ has invited Prof. Yasuhiro Matsuda of the University of Tokyo Interfaculty Initiative in Information (also serving as professor of the Institute for Advanced Studies on Asia) to discuss the future of Japan-China relations.
Don’t miss this rare chance!
Date: October 27 (Mon), 2014, 14:00-15:30
Place: Foreign Press Center/Japan (6th floor, Nippon Press Center Bldg)
Language: Japanese (with consecutive English interpretation)
Embassy representatives and FPCJ supporting members may also attend the briefing as observers (admission free).
