Economic recovery in the affected area
Briefer: Mr. Kosuke Motani, Chief Senior Economist, Economist Department, Japan Research Institute, Ltd.
Almost three years since the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake; however, according to the Reconstruction Agency, more than 270,000 victims were still forced to live in the evacuation sites as of December 2013. Although efforts for reconstruction of the affected areas have been steadily advanced, there is variability in the recovery situation by region and industry.
FPCJ has invited Mr. Kosuke Motani, Chief Senior Economist, Japan Research Institute, Ltd., who also has experience of being a member of the study group of the Reconstruction Design Council in the Great East Japan Earthquake, to talk about the current situation and future tasks for industrial and economic revitalization of the affected areas.
