White Paper on Crime 2013

Note: The content of the briefing will be embargoed until after the Cabinet Meeting on November 15.
The White Paper on Crime 2013 introduces Japan’s statistical data on crime at full length, featuring two themes: “Female criminality and delinquency,” and “Globalization and Criminal Policy."
“Female criminality and delinquency” analyzes the current situation of female inmates, based on its statistics, and discusses countermeasures taking account of women’s specific needs. “Globalization and Criminal Policy” analyzes the current criminal trend, based on the existing statistical data as well as special studies on foreign prisoners and juvenile training school inmates. It further discusses necessary countermeasures against the current trend.
FPCJ has invited Mr. Takao Seki, Director, Research Department, Research and Training Institute, Ministry of Justice, to talk about the White Paper on Crime 2013.
