Japan’s Energy Problem
Briefer: Prof. Takeo Kikkawa, Graduate School of Commerce and Management, Hitotsubashi University
In January this year, Prime Minister Abe ordered a zero-based review of the target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 25% below 1990 levels by 2020, and in his policy speech in October, he declared that he would carry out reforms to the electric power system to create a dynamic electricity market.
As COP19 approaches, world attention is again on Japan's energy policy. FPCJ has invited Prof. Takeo Kikkawa of the Graduate School of Commerce and Management, Hitotsubashi University, to talk about Japan's Energy Problem. While serving as a member of the Fundamental Issues Subcommittee, Advisory Committee for Natural Resources and Energy, Dr. Kikkawa is proactively commenting on the disposal of TEPCO. Don't miss it!
