After Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi commented at the National Diet regarding a potential Taiwan military emergency, China criticized the comment and called for it to be retracted, with the situation appearing to have no end in sight. How can Japan and China put this situation to rest?

The FPCJ has invited Dr. Tomoko Ako, a professor at the University of Tokyo Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, to discuss the rapidly changing situation surrounding Japan-China relations, the background behind China’s actions, the diplomatic and security issues facing Japan, and Japan’s response.
