The FPCJ has invited Mr. KIUCHI Minoru, Minister of State for Science and Technology Policy, to discuss Japan’s Latest Science and Technology Policy.

 

-Members of the foreign press and embassy representatives:
This will be a hybrid briefing, with participation in person possible at the FPCJ Conference Room, in addition to an online livestream via Zoom webinar.

 

- FPCJ supporting members may participate in the briefing online as observers (admission free).

■Briefer: Mr. KIUCHI Minoru, Minister of State for Science and Technology Policy

  Brief Bio: Born on April 19, 1965. He has been serving in his current role since October 2024. Member of the Japanese House of Representatives for the Liberal Democratic Party (elected seven times). After graduating from the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Tokyo, he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2003. His previous roles include Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, State Minister of the Environment, and Chair of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives.

■Language: Japanese, with consecutive English interpretation

As in our standard press briefings, there will be a Q&A session at the end.
*In principle, questions will only be accepted from members of the foreign press.

As in our standard press briefings, there will be a Q&A session at the end. Those who will come to join it at the FPCJ conference room will be given priority to ask a question.
Please send any questions for the briefer or topics you are interested in to cp@fpcjpn.or.jp by noon, Wednesday, July 23.
As there will only be a limited amount of time to ask questions during the briefing, we will collect questions and provide them to the briefer in advance.
