post date : 2024.05.21
At the G7 Hiroshima Summit held in May 2024, the Hiroshima AI Process was launched as a framework for the discussion of rules surrounding generative artificial intelligence (AI), and the Japanese government is attempting to take the lead in the development of rules for the appropriate usage and development of AI, an urgent issue considering the international race to develop AI.
The FPCJ has invited Dr. Yutaka Matsuo, a professor at the University of Tokyo School of Engineering and chair of the Japanese government’s AI Strategy Council, which is leading the development of domestic rules to ensure international discussion will go smoothly, to discuss the state of development of generative AI, international movements in the field, and what is necessary for Japan to take the lead in developing international rules.
