Greetings from the President

On the 50th Anniversary
of the FPCJ’s Founding

This year marks the 50th year of the founding of Foreign Press Center Japan (FPCJ).
I would like to express my sincere appreciation for everyone who has supported our activities in any way, especially those who agreed to interviews or press tours, our Supporting Members, and of course members of the foreign media.

When the FPCJ was founded in 1976, Japan had a growing presence in the international community, and there was also increasing interest in Japan from around the world.
Having been established in such a time period, since then the FPCJ has worked to support the reporting efforts of foreign journalists on various topics in Japan, to ensure accurate coverage on Japan overseas.

Although over these 50 years there have been significant changes in both global interest in Japan and the media environment, our goal remains unchanged.
In today’s international community, mutual understanding between people across borders is becoming increasingly important.

The FPCJ will continue to support coverage of Japan by foreign journalists so that people around the world can see Japan as it truly is.
I sincerely hope that you will continue to extend your support and cooperation for the FPCJ’s activities.
