Video report: Mayor of Nagasaki discussed “75 Years Since the Bombing—Nagasaki’s Hopes, Prayers, and Lessons”

2020 will mark 75 years since the atomic bombing of Nagasaki.

 

The FPCJ invited Mr. Tomihisa Taue, the mayor of Nagasaki, to hold an online briefing ahead of the 75th anniversary of the bombing, August 9.

 

He discussed how Nagasaki sends a powerful message to visitors with related facilities separated into three zones of Hope, Prayer, and Study, explaining Nagasaki’s sincere desire for peace and initiatives working towards abolishing nuclear weapons.

 

The briefing had a total of 33 participants including journalists from Bangladesh, Belgium, China, France, Germany, Indonesia, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Turkey, UK, and USA.
