“SusHi Tech Tokyo”: our concept to create a new value system to build a sustainable society. Hosting City-Tech.Tokyo (Feb. 27-28) & G-NETS Leaders Summit(Feb. 27-Mar.1)

2023.02.01

Tokyo will create a "new value system to build a sustainable society" and overcome common global urban challenges through cutting-edge technology, diverse ideas and digital know-how.

The PR concept is "Sustainable High City Tech Tokyo," or "SusHi Tech Tokyo.” As specific initiatives, we are holding "City-Tech.Tokyo" and "Global City Network for Sustainability (G-NETS) Leaders Summit" at the end of this February.

City-Tech.Tokyo will be hosted by the Global Event 2023 Executive Committee.

City-Tech.Tokyo aims to have 300 startups exhibiting booths and a total of 10,000 participants from 100 cities in 30 countries. We will create opportunities for concrete collaborations and increased investment in the field of infrastructure, the environment, and others, to generate new urban visions based on diverse ideas and technologies.

In addition, we will hold a pitch contest with a prize money of ten million yen and business meetings for high-level Japanese and international startups to meet with the leaders of Japanese companies. In this way, we aim to realize a sustainable society through open innovation with startups.

City-Tech Tokyo forms part of ‘Global Innovation with Startups,’ TMG’s strategy to build a world-class ecosystem for innovators from all over the world in Tokyo.

G-NETS Leaders Summit is an event for leaders from cities around the world to gather to discuss initiatives to solve urban issues and future prospects. The event will confirm the collaboration among the world's cities and we will announce the outcome to the world through a communiqué.

On the occasion of this event, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building No. 1 will be illuminated in red and white to symbolize the "SusHi Tech Tokyo" logo. The event will be held from Wednesday, February 1 to Wednesday, March 1, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Through these two events, Tokyo will present to the world a vision of how cities will create "a new value system to build sustainable societies" so the next generation can overcome the common urban challenges of the world; this is embodied in "SusHi Tech Tokyo".
