post date : 2017.04.25

On April 10, the National Institute of Population and Social Security Research announced the latest Population Projections for Japan (2017 Projections). With five years having passed since the last projections, latest figures include interesting findings such as an increase in birthrate for women in their 30s and 40s, and a slowdown in the speed of population decline and the aging of society. The FPCJ invited Dr. Futoshi Ishii, Director of the Department of Population Dynamics Research at the National Institute of Population and Social Security Research, to explain these latest projections.

The briefing had a total of 34 participants, including 14 journalists from France, Singapore, Korea, U.S.A., Vietnam, Belgium, Australia, China, and UK.
