Video Report:Statistical Look at the Elderly in Japan (65 and Over) (Mr. Masato Chino, Director-General of the Statistical Survey Dept., Statistics Bureau, MIC)

Every year, to coincide with Respect for the Aged Day (the third Monday in September), the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications’ Statistics Bureau releases a report titled Statistical Look at the Elderly in Japan using the latest statistical data, which includes the size of the elderly population in Japan, employment statistics, and household income.

 

The FPCJ invited Mr. Masato Chino, Director-General of the Statistical Survey Department of the Statistics Bureau at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, to speak about this year’s Statistical Look at the Elderly in Japan.

 

The briefing had a total of 27 participants, including 11 journalists from USA, UK, China, South Korea, Singapore, and 7 embassy representatives.
