On August 11, the Information Economy Committee of the Industrial Structure Council (chaired by Mr. Jun Murai, Professor, Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, Keio University) compiled and released action plans on six priority areas and five cross-sectional policy challenges aiming at the creation of new industries linked to information technologies.
On the same day, chairperson Professor Murai and Mr. Hiroki Mitsumata, Director of the Information Policy Division, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, held a press briefing at FPCJ from 4 p.m. A total of 13 people including foreign press members and observers (representatives of foreign embassies in Tokyo) attended.
