During the annual meeting of the Scientific Committee of the International Whaling Commission (IWC) held in San Diego, the USA, from May 22 to June 3, the new proposal by the Japanese government for the scientific whale research program in the Antarctic Ocean was discussed. The Scientific Committee is expected to release a report on Friday, June 19. On this occasion, the FPCJ has organized a press briefing, inviting Mr. Joji Morishita, Japan’s Commissioner to the IWC.
